The new Nikon COOLPIX W300 waterproof camera is an update to Nikon’s previous waterproof point-and-shoot camera, the AW130. Like its predecessor, the W300 boasts a rugged overall design but adds the ability to shoot 4K video.

Nikon COOLPIX W300 Features Review
The Nikon COOLPIX W300 uses a 16-megapixel CMOS back-side illuminated (BSI) sensor along with an F2.8–4.9 aperture lens with 5x optical zoom and optical image stabilization.
The W300 is waterproof down to 100 feet, freeze proof to 14 degrees Fahrenheit, dustproof and shockproof to drops as high as 7.9 feet.
The overall ruggedness of the W300 is enviable — it has one of the best builds in this class of waterproof camera.
The video mode will now shoot up to 4K UHD — that’s 3840×2160 at 30 frames per second (fps). We’re actually more pleased to have the Full HD 1080p option boosted to 60 fps because it’s a very usable setting for most people, delivering a great blend of quality to file size.
The W300 also has a built-in GPS to keep track of your location, as well as keep track of your depth or height above sea level (altimeter). A new Active Guide function quickly shows you this data.
The W300 will connect to your smartphone via built-in WiFi or Bluetooth with the Nikon SnapBridge app, which lets you transfer, share photos and videos or use your smartphone as a remote control.
