About

You can change your life. You can change the direction, the trajectory, the way you see the world and find adventure. Our aim is to be a catalyst for living a more adventurous life, specifically outdoor adventure in all of its forms.

The thing is, most people don’t get out enough, and many of those who do limit their experiences to just one passion. You’ve met the guy who only rides mountain bikes, right? He’s really good at it. But that’s all he does. Where are the epic backpacking trips? The backyard mountain summits? The snorkeling, kayaking, the casting of a tiny fly on a tiny hook to a monster trout? Where is the attempt to learn something new?

This is our driving force behind Man Makes Fire: We push to learn new skills, find new experiences, and bring others along for the ride.

Think About Fire

At some point in a dark and cold cave, some caveman or woman started bashing rocks together in an attempt to spark a fire — and once they did, their whole world changed.

We believe outdoor experiences change how you see the world, change how you appreciate pretty much everything.

The challenge is to fit more in, to get closer to nature, to resee the little things, the big things, and everything in between.

This is what we care about. This is our passion. To get there, everyone needs a little help — guides, gear, and the spark to get going, to try something new, to watch less and do more.
