Camping Gear
Man Makes Fire publishes outdoor gear reviews. We focus only on high-quality outdoor gear from brands we trust. For camping enthusiasts, we review camping tents, camping stoves, camp tables, chairs, sleeping bags, sun/bug shelters, and camping accessories.
To create our in-depth camping gear reviews, we use the gear outside in the field while camping to better understand what the gear is good at. We also learn how the gear works while camping and then share what kinds of campers will appreciate it best. Some gear we test side-by-side during gear testing events. For instance, each year we will set up and test multiple camping tents to create and update our guide to the Best Camping Tents. For our guide to the Best Camping Stoves, we test camp stoves outdoors throughout the course of the year as we go camping and day-tripping. We then update our reviews and recommendations according to our experiences after using the gear. Much of our favorite camping gear recommendations make it into our 55+ Camping Gifts for Campers and Outdoor Fanatics guide.
